HOUSTON RADIO HOST KEVIN KLINE ANNOUNCES EXTREME SOLO RUN.
If SUCCESSFUL, Kevin will BECOME the 1st RECORDED PERSON IN HISTORY TO RUN THE NORTHERNMOST 300 MILES OF ALASKA’S DALTON HIGHWAY (IN WINTER).
His journey begins mid november when temperatures can be as low as -40 DEGREES.
His 8-day solo run will benefit Snowdrop Foundation and will raise awareness in the fight against pediatric cancer.
Beginning November 16, 2019, Kline will average 37 miles a day on the Dalton Highway, which holds the distinct title as THE most dangerous road in North America. The last 240 miles is deprived of gas stations, restaurants, hotels, and all other services, making it the longest stretch of service-less road in North America. Accidents are common on the treacherous James Dalton Highway, and the fact that the nearest medical facility is potentially hundreds of miles away, means one mistake could result in dire circumstances.
Kevin Kline will face sub-zero temperatures, battering winds, sleet, snow, and over 17 hours of darkness a day, making this run extremely perilous.
To train for this harrowing event, Kline runs in his garage on a treadmill, housed inside of a walk-in freezer, with stabilized temperatures as low as -20F. While he trains, join us by watching him on a live video link at www.deliveringhoperun.org.
“The isolation, hostility, and potentially severe consequences mirrors what children with cancer face; however, when the child beats their diagnosis, they feel like they’re on top of the world, and that’s where this run ends,” said Kline.
Awesome Media Productions will follow Kline throughout his arduous training and cover every step of this historic run, which will become a full-length documentary.
To produce the documentary, the Snowdrop Foundation is seeking sponsors and donors to provide the vital funds needed to launch this independent film that will bring awareness to childhood cancer and help educate the masses on the struggle these children face.
